2018 Sale-A-Bration Kre8tors Blog Hop

The Kre8tors Blog Hop group is at it again! This time, we're bringing you some amazing projects using Sale-a-Bration items! You've just arrived from Leisa Pedersen... didn't you just love what she created? There are so many fun items in the Sale-a-Bration catalog and in case you didn't know... there are more to be released on February 16! But this hop is to showcase the first round of items (because there are SO many).

I haven't had much time to craft lately (did you read my last post?) so there are still some Sale-a-Bration sets I haven't used. But I decided to create something quick and easy (kind of like this post) because that's how I roll lately.

This card uses three Sale-a-Bration items: Bubbles and Fizz Designer Series Paper, the Amazing You stamp set, and coordinating Celebrate You thinlits. This card was amazingly simple! I tried adding ribbon and other embellishments, but it didn't need it... it ended up looking cluttered.

Shameless plug: You can choose the paper or stamp set for a $50 order, or the thinlits for a $100 order. Want all three? Place a $200 order! And for a $200 order, you earn $20 in Stampin' Rewards (more free stuff). Cool, huh?

Thank you for stopping by today. I'm off to take care of the dogs now... I was at the vet until 2am because the husky decided to eat a Swiffer duster. Yep. Good times!

Happy hopping back to Melissa Tennison (if you didn't start there - you definitely need to check out what she created!). And if you've missed any of the blogs, you can click on one of the links below and start over.

Sometimes Life Gets in the Way

It seems the more I plan, the more life gets in the way. Like the weekly color challenges... I planned out my posts, chose my colors, and started to work on my projects, but something happened and I had to put that on the back burner. Not much cardmaking for me lately (except those for yesterday's blog hop). What changed? One word... dogs.

It's been 10 years since we've owned a dog (we miss our dear Chow Chow, Rusty, everyday) and we've been on the search for another fur baby the last few months. Hubby and I had certain criteria (we actually wanted different breeds and ages of dogs) and finally found what was a good compromise - or so we thought. On a day I didn't want to go look at dogs, I only wanted to stay in bed (thank you bout of depression), hubby encouraged me to get up and go to the shelter with him. The first shelter didn't have what we were looking for, and I considered it a sign to go home and climb back in bed. Unfortunately, hubby had other plans and took us (my 17 year-old son and me) to another shelter in a neighboring city.

And there he was... the Siberian Husky we had been looking for. Not quite the puppy we wanted, but at 1-1/2 years, he still has the puppy spirit within him.

Handsome, isn't he? Okay, my son's good looking, too... but I was referring to the dog. LOL! I won't bore you with the details of how we were moved from the bottom of the waiting list to the top, but let's just say... this husky had a little pal in the same kennel, and we couldn't adopt one and not the other. That's right... we ended up adopting two dogs!

Aren't they adorable??? And so angelic, too! Yeah, right... they are quite the handful! The cones of shame are because of a little snip that had to happen before leaving the shelter. Those come off in another week. I'm a little scared about how much trouble they can get into once the cones are gone.

We take them on frequent walks... like about six a day. Spoiled? Yes... absolutely! But also absolutely necessary or they get into all sorts of trouble inside... like ripping up pillows and peeing on everything. Sigh.

This sweet moment lasted for about 30 seconds. Then it was back to sibling rivalry. I swear... it's like taking care of twin toddlers with two complete opposite personalities!

I was never one for using crates, but everyone kept telling me to get them... that they will be their safe spaces. They use them for about five minutes then vacate. The little dog uses the big crate, and the big dog tries to fit his coned head into the little crate. Hilarious!

Wish us luck as we continue to learn how to live with each other. I'll be honest, there are days I want to take them back to the shelter. But then I think about how much they need us... and we need them. Good therapy, if you ask me. Then again... ask me how I feel in another week or two. LOL!

Thanks for taking this break with me, and I promise I'll be back soon with more cards. I think I have a hop coming up... I'd better start creating!
