Let's Get Hopping - Three of a Kind

Welcome to another edition of Let's Get Hopping! You probably just arrived from Nina McMillan. Such a beautiful set of cards, right? Oh how I enjoy hopping with these talented ladies! I get so inspired and want to CASE each of their cards!

Sometimes it's hard to sit down and create a card... but to sit down and create three cards? Nearly impossible! However, it's not so hard when you use the same pack of Designer Series Paper and a couple of embellishments. I love being able to create quick and easy cards, and I feel so accomplished if I can make more than one at a time. Life has been crazy, after all!

These cards were created using the Floral Phrases stamp set and the "soon-to-be-retired" Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack, coordinating 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon, and matching Bitty Bows. I'm thrilled the colors are carrying over for another catalog, but I'm going to miss these accessories. As of this morning there are still some available, so you should head over to my online store and put some in your shopping cart! (Shameless plug, I know.)

Want to know a little secret? I actually tied a little Whisper White Bakers Twine around the center of the ribbon. Why? Because I wanted that "gathered" look under the Bitty Bow so it looks like the bow was tied from that ribbon... it didn't look quite right completely flat.

I've used the same layout on each of the cards, but changed the sentiment and color scheme for each. My purpose was to show how easy it is to make a variety of cards using minimal supplies - and one stamp set. These would make a lovely gift for Mom - or that special lady who has been like a mom to you. Perhaps I'll give these to my Tia Tanya as a just because gift. Just because I love her.

Now hop on over to see what Carolynn Sander has created! I know it's something amazing!!

My First Color Challenge!

Do you tend to gravitate to the same colors or color family when you sit down to create? Do you find some colors in your cardstock collection don't get any love? If so, then you're in good company.

Today's color challenge was inspired by the card Tracy Bish created for our Let's Get Hopping blog hop earlier in the week, and I fell in love with her color combination: Island Indigo and Lemon Lime Twist - two colors I never would have thought to pair together!

I'm throwing in a couple of neutrals for this challenge, simply because neutrals are needed. I chose Basic Gray instead of the black that Tracy used because I wanted a softer look.

I'm loving the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper that's available as a free item during Sale-a-Bration! And it's a masculine card - BONUS! The one sheet I used has bubbles and fizz on one side, and various bottles on the reverse. I did a little fussy-cutting for the bottles (if you don't know this about me... I can't resist a good fussy-cut).

If I've inspired you to create something using these colors, like Tracy inspired me, I welcome you to share your creations and post them to my Facebook page.

Happy creating!

A Sneak Peek from the New Catalog!

This is an exciting time of year in the Stampin' Up! world! There are about three weeks left before the new annual catalog comes out, and there are some AMAZING things in that catalog! As a taste of what's to come, Stampin' Up! has a new bundle available before the June 1 launch! Check out the Eastern Palace Suite bundles!

Although I purchased the Premier bundle, I decided to make a few cards using the starter bundle! Check out these quick and easy cards...

I love how quick and easy these cards are - the Very Vanilla notecards make it super simple! But beware... the Eastern Beauty stamp set is highly addictive... there are so many pieces that you will no doubt find fun ways to use them!

If you order either of these bundles, I will give you a free one-on-one class! If you're not local, I will send you a PDF for the instructions on how to make not only these cards, but ones made with the premier bundle as well (pictures to be posted soon)! Visit my online store to get bundle details or place an order today.
