Let's Get Hopping - His and Her Birthdays!

Welcome to February's Let's Get Hopping blog hop! You've just arrived from Maria Willis's blog... didn't she create some fun cards?

The idea behind this challenge is to use one layout, but create two cards: one for him and one for her. The Birthday Memories Suite makes this task super easy! As a matter of fact, these two cards came together in a snap, once I decided on which sheets of Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper to use for which card.

Yes, this suite has Framelits to cut out the stamped baker, but I'm a sucker for fussy-cutting and wanted the cut to be a little closer to the outline. And did you know the Framelits also cut out images from the Designer Series Paper? What? That's right! This sweet little girl is from the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper and was cut out using the Birthday Friends Framelits Dies. How cool is that?

Check out the shimmer on those shoes, the top of the cupcake, and the twinkle in her eye? It's so much easier to see it in person, but Wink of Stella adds just the right amount of sparkle to any element. It's hard to see it in the pictures, but oh so cool in person!

As you can see, both cards have the same layout, but changing a few elements, like colors, the background paper, and the cutouts, the card can be customized to suit anyone.

The His card uses a piece of the Designer Series Paper as the Crumb Cake background...

...but I created the background for the Her card using the stamps and Rich Razzleberry ink on Rich Razzleberry cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed my take on His and Her cards, and you're inspired to create your own! Now, continue on the hop to see what awesome cards Verity Biddlecombe has created!

Want to create either of these cards? Don't be intimidated by this long list... I combined both cards' supplies into one list. If you're ordering online and your order is less than $150, please use host code MSBNTGFD.
